OK, (since this is BethesdaHomesForSale) maybe not Bethesda, but pretty darn close! We wanted to take this opportunity to profile some communities adjacent to Bethesda, MD. What follows is Chevy Chase, MD:
Located just outside the northwest corner of Washington, D.C., Chevy Chase Maryland is one of the most coveted and luxurious areas in Montgomery County, Maryland (some believe it would be even more desirable if its name was somehow connected to the comedian, “Chevy Chase”, but no such luck 
). Developed in the late 1920s, this area which encompasses the 20815 zip code, was originally designed to serve as a residential streetcar suburb and/or summer homes for people in DC. While it is not tremendously unusual to find some new(er) homes in this area, the area’s architectural character is mostly defined by early and mid-century homes. The mature tree-lined streets provide the perfect backdrop for this suburban treasure and Rock Creek Park is the background for several of these streets.
Most homes in Chevy Chase vary from “semi-luxury” to “ultra-luxury”. In the southern end (those areas closer to or at the DC boarder), prices sit in the $1 million to $3 million bracket. Larger estate style homes also exist in this area and can fetch more than $5 million. Home prices become more “reasonable” as you venture further north towards North Chevy Chase and Kensington. Here, the homes tend to be smaller ramblers or split levels, with some colonials thrown in.
